Youth & Leadership Award

We invite young visionaries aged 12 to 18 to submit project proposals that promote community benefit, demonstrate leadership, and foster opportunities in sports or outdoor activities. This program empowers youth to take the lead in shaping their communities and honing valuable skills through partnerships with non-profits. This award is funded by the interest earned on the following permanent endowments: Youth in Sport, Youth Opportunities, and Adventure Realm Canada Fund.

Eligibility Requirements

Youth between 12 and 18 years old who are: working for local community benefit, demonstrating leadership in the community, or creating youth opportunities in sport or outdoor activities
Must apply under partner charity or Not-For-Profit
Project must serve Golden and Area A

The Youth & Leadership Award, initiated in 2018, offers a unique grant opportunity specifically tailored for youth with a focus on creating an accessible application process that empowers young individuals to develop and pursue their ideas; the award aims to foster community engagement and leadership among youth. The funds contributing to this initiative include the Youth Advisory and Opportunity Council, which supports local projects enhancing youth quality of life; the Youth Adventure Realm Fund, dedicated to outdoor leadership and wilderness education; and the Youth in Sports Fund, aimed at backing amateur sports initiatives in the Golden and District area. Through partnerships and donations, these funds ensure ongoing support for youth-driven projects, aligning with the foundation's commitment to youth empowerment and community development.
